LDSMN REVIEW

Accomplished classical soloist George Dyer pleases yet again on this third album. The production is very good as it showcases his rich, mellifluous bass voice without allowing him to overpower the music. Nor is the music allowed to overpower him. Here's a look at the ten classical songs.

"Gabriel's Oboe/Nella Fantasia" starts off with a soft oohing then crescendos into a passionate chorus. Then it fades back into a soft ballad again.

"One Note" is penned by Kurt Bestor and Brent Walker. It speaks of the one note, one joy that can be achieved through music.

"Far and Away" is a ballad to the son who leaves his homeland to pursue dreams in another land.

"The Prayer" is a duet with Jenny Jordan Frogley, who has an incredible voice. It's a prayer that seeks faith, grace and safety.

"He Shall Feed His Flock" is from Handel's Messiah and features the brilliant Mark Small and Robert Torres on guitars. Nicely done.

"Padre Nostro/The Lord's Prayer" starts out in a foreign language then switches to English. It grows in intensity as it switches to English and quotes the Bible nearly word for word. It is an intense appeal to the Father.

"The Lonely Swallow/Rondine al Nido" is a real tear-jerker. It speaks of being lonely for a long lost love.

"Come to Know" is a ballad to a woman's touch. Very nice.

"Time to Say Goodbye" is in a foreign language but gets the message across just fine.

"Lamb of God/Adagio for Strings, Op. 11" is the only piece that was somewhat familiar to me as I recognized the orchestra's music. The lyrics were new to me but were nicely performed at any rate.

George Dyer should be judged in the company of such performers as Andrea Bocelli as they perform similar works. He impresses me somewhat easily because I can't read the foreign languages he's capable of singing. Earnestly I have to say he's a solid singer and that this album is a good pick for those who enjoy classical music. A solid four stars.
