 This
collection of five original works by the team of Jenny Phillips
and Tyler Castleton is intended for use in fireside meetings. Collected
with the Young Women's 2005 theme in mind, these songs inspire and
uplift. Performed by a range of vocal talent, the CD also includes
performance and narration tracks for those who follow the fireside's
program.
The first song is the title track and features a choir rather than
a solo. It effectively sets the tone for the songs that follow,
telling the listener that there will be some good inspirational
music.
"A Daughter of a King" is the second track and features
vocalist Alysia Peterson. The message is right on target for the
youthful listener, reminding the listener of their true heritage.
The third track is "When We Meet Again." It is performed
by Mindy Gledhill and it speaks of wanting to "prove my faith"
so that Christ will "Call me friend/When we meet again."
"Every Breath" is my favorite song of the album and it
was performed by Jenny Phillips. It really spoke to my frequently
suicidal soul. The lyrics read "Every breath/Every pain/He
knows your heart and/he knows your name/The giver of life/Light
in your soul/Oh come home/Come rest/Let Him bless/Your every breath."
I really found serenity from this song.
The fifth track is "Fire in Our Hearts." It speaks of
Joseph Smith and the First Vision. Phillips and Choir sing about
the legacy left by the man who was once a brave, inquisitive boy.
Tracks 6-13 are the narrative and performance tracks. The lyrics
are included in the liner notes, or can be accessed online from
the website www.jennyphillips.com.
This album hits the youthful market it was intended for, but will
also be enjoyed by the mature seeking good inspirational music.
I rate the album a solid 3 stars.
