LDSMN REVIEW
Two major impressions stand out on the fourth installment of the LDS Musicians.com compilation series.

First is that the group, now over 250 members strong, continues to make Neil Armstrong-sized leaps every year. Second is that everyone involved in this year's compilation seems to have had a lot of fun. You can picture a gathering of smiling friends sitting elbow to elbow on folding chairs in an unfinished basement, each strumming a guitar or belting out their voice in harmony. These are parents and grandparents, teenagers and college students. They are Saints who don't always agree but have more than enough encouragement to keep the world spinning around.

They are friends who love making music that uplifts and provides a variety of alternatives to today's barrage of garbage and noise. Some are overcoming their stage fright and claustrophobia at the same time while others are warming up for their next prime time audience.

As you might expect, the group creates music as diverse as its demographics. The good news is that the genres are linked by high standards of production and songwriting, making this the group's best effort yet. An additional MP3 disc includes a number of winners that were only left off of the main disc because of space constraints. My list of favorites won't be the same as yours, but I especially enjoy the songs by Eclipse, Alex Mackey, InsideOut, and Jeff Goldman. You'll be surprised how well the songs blend despite being divided into three genres and a "various" category. There is ample talent on this collection to compete with major-label efforts by anyone in the current LDS market.
