There's no doubt that the sounds of LDS musicians such as Brett Raymond, Julie de Azevedo, and Kenneth Cope have found their way into many homes and seminary buildings throughout the church. LDS Superhits of the '80s is a compilation of some of the songs that have become most well-known and loved since the dawn of LDS music.

The album proved to be a difficult review because most songs are so familiar to people, and are known enough that people either like them or they don't. Offhand, I can't think of any songs from the '80s that should have been included that aren't. The compilation feels complete and thorough.

As would be expected on a CD such as this, each track's vocals are smooth, solid, and virtually flawless. Production-wise, the disc is first class. It is a matter of personal opinion, but I loved the songs that I had loved from before, and didn't particularly care for the songs that I didn't really care for before they were grouped with other hits.

Some personal favorites from the disc include string- "Greater Than Us All" performed by Kenneth Cope, "Hold On, the Light Will Come" sang by Brett Raymond, and the closing track "Will He Really Answer Me" by Liz Burrell, Amy Boyack, Felicia Sorensen, written by Michael McLean.

The music is inspirational, thought-provoking, and it goes without saying that the songs became hits for a reason. A listener who isn't familiar with most of the songs, or who wants a cream-of-the-crop summation of LDS music throughout the '80s is in the right place.
