LDSMN REVIEW

Mindy Gledhill makes her debut in the inspirational genre with this ten track offering from Excel Entertainment's Lumen Records label.

"I Will Rest in You" is a gentle beginning to an album filled with inspirational music. The soft cadence of her singing is complemented nicely by strings and Dustin Gledhill on the piano.

"Someone Searching" is a nice nod to missionary works and is a cover of a Ginny Owens/Dwight Liles song. Owens is a mainstream Christian artist who has a reputation as a master songwriter. The lyrics speak of being there for someone searching for a better way of life.

"Keeper of the Faith"- I found myself singing along with this one after a few listens. Mindy wrote this song and it inspires one to keep the faith under the most trying circumstances.

"Back to Where You Are" - is co-written by Mindy and Kenneth Cope and it's a nice reminder "It's really not that far/Back to where you (Christ) are."

"Close" - was also CO-written by Mindy and Cope. The lyrics speak of the ways that Christ remains close to us. The gentle piano builds into a swelling string accompaniment that is easy on the ears.

"Garden Walls" is a very moving testimony of Christ's sacrifice in the garden.

"A Little More Like Thee" - contains the lyrics that speak of the "sum of all grace" that the title comes from. The piano accompaniment is moving on this song.

"Jesus Once of Humble Birth" - Mindy and Dustin team up for this arrangement of the popular hymn. It's a little different and forces you to pay attention a bit.

"River God" - is a cover of a Nichole Nordeman song that makes an analogy of the faithful to a rock in the river. It's beautiful.

"Small Enough" - also is a cover of Nordeman, and it's an interesting prayer to Heavenly Father to be "small enough to hear me now." I like the picture the lyrics paint of a Great Heavenly Being that can condescend to listen to even the smallest of His children.

Mindy has a wonderful voice and is complemented nicely by the talents of Cope, Dustin Gledhill and Danny Gledhill. She wrote moving lyrics while the guys provided the moving music to match. This is a solid inspirational debut and I look forward to hearing more from her in the future. A solid four stars.
