Tom Dossett – Keys to Happiness
Tom Dossett is a veteran
composer well-known in “the biz” of commercial music. However, he
felt inspired to create an album of LDS arrangements for piano that
include a good mix of hymns and children’s songs. There are 15 songs
on this album and all are good. Nearly all of my favorites on this
album were arrangements of Primary songs. “Popcorn Popping,” “Once
There Was a Snowman” and “Do As I’m Doing” all stand out in my mind.
But he also did a lovely arrangement of “Be Still, My Soul” which is
among my favorite hymns for its comforting message.
He did two medleys. The first is
titled “Family,” and includes snippets of “A Happy Family,” “When
We’re Helping” and “The Family.” The second is titled “The 4th
Article of Faith” and it includes “The Church of Jesus Christ,”
“Faith,” “Repentance,” “When Jesus Christ Was Baptized” and “The
Still Small Voice.” Both are good and enjoyable to listen to.
The last time I corresponded
with Tom, he still hadn’t found a distributor, but I hope he does.
I’d like to see him release more albums, as I feel he had a nice
polished, professional touch on the piano. To order a copy of the
album, visit Tom through his website at
