Book's Shadow Mountain label was still showcasing this album for
Christmas 2003 though the album originally was released in 2002.
This is a good solid effort from the Small-Torres Guitar Duo, who
is best known for classical works. They are consummate guitarists
and have created some beautiful duet arrangements of classics written
for other instruments.
There are 13 tracks, and several clock in over four minutes, making
it a slightly longer listen than a pop album. The music draws one
in, and requires some active listening, but does work as a background
album for mood. It has a lot of value as a Sabbath day album because
all the music lends to a peaceful environment.
Mark Small and Robert Torres took turns writing most of the arrangements,
with Small penning two original works for the album. These are both
excellent and reflect the good quality that this duo has earned
a reputation of delivering. A worthy album at 4.5 stars.
